As Christmas drew closer and closer, with more and more stores claiming deeper and deeper discounts on all their wares, some people began to fall out of the established system. For some, it was the simple reason that presents and 'stuff' weren't the true reason for the celebration. For some others, it was simply a matter of not being able to afford gifts for everybody they knew. There were a precious few people who had very small families, a close-knit and correspondingly tiny group of friends, and were able to satisfy their holiday needs by sending cards and buying a few gifts earlier in the year.

Adventures of the Legion of Super Heroes Peril in Black - The Return of Satan Girl by Steve Zink

Supergirl was making one of her infrequent visits to the Legion of Super Heroes after traversing more or less a thousand years in the time stream toward the future. When she got to Legion HQ, she was greeted warmly by Cosmic Boy, who put out the word for everybody to gather in the briefing room. There, she was reintroduced to all the Legionnaires on duty, and seen for the first time by a few Legionnaires who had joined since her last visit.

Early in 1999, Eddie Glover posted his story, "A New World - Sequel to Universal Collision". There was one segment of the story rather early on which alluded to some events which weren't covered in earlier parts. Ever since he posted the story, I've been thinking of writing that missing segment. I finished it last weekend, and sent it to Eddie to see what he thought. He liked it very much; he asked that if I posted it I let the readers know what story by him it came from, and about where in the story it would fall.
For those with their own saved files of this story, my part falls right at the end of his first posted part. This would mean inserting my part between his segment labeled as "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" and the segment labeled as "DC Earth - Gotham City".
Femizonia----South Atlantic----Marvel Earth
Late in the evening, standing together in the midst of a genetic research laboratory that would have been the envy of any of the world governments, particularly the United States which was roughly six hundred miles across the mid-Atlantic to the northwest, were two impressive looking females. This laboratory was one of the gems of Femizonia, originated by Superia as a females-only hidden paradise. This made the fact that the two looked impressive all the more significant, since they were surrounded by the hand-picked cream of feminine scientists, technicians and other functionaries necessary.
Superia herself stood out for both her height and her statuesque female form. If anything, she looked like a living six foot tall Barbie Doll that had its hair removed and then had been painted overall with glossy black paint. Her face was the only part of her flesh visible, and it was a picture of intense beauty with deep blue eyes, highly arched black eyebrows, a prominent but elegantly shaped nose, and deep red coated lips which were normally tightly closed. The gloves on her hands looked to be actually a part of the sleeves of her costume, for there were no apparent breaks where they might have ended. As if her normal commanding height was not enough, she was elevated even higher by the spike heels on her black boots.
Accenting her black form was gold striping which formed a ring around her neck; came down from her shoulders to join a large ring over her center chest with its large mounds, then went straight down to her crotch where two more stripes wound around her upper thighs, forming an inverted arrow from the front. There was another stripe going around her narrow waist, making this arrow look like the symbol for femininity. More striping on her arms and legs with circles around her elbows and knees worked to form smaller versions of this same symbol. Her face was framed in this gold, with the band over her forehead continuing around her head and another band going straight up from her forehead and continuing to the base of her neck in back. There was also a flowing golden cape attached to her shoulders where the two gold bands originated.

Using the X-Men Comic Title Literally - Ex-Men Banshee and Jean Grey

Quite a few years ago, Jean Grey was brought back from the dead by Marvel. As Phoenix, she had been corrupted and turned into Dark Phoenix. She took her own life to prevent Dark Phoenix from returning. It later transpired that the Phoenix force had adopted Jean Grey's form, while putting Jean's body into a cocoon on the floor of Jamaica Bay outside New York City. Long after Phoenix supposedly died, Jean was released from her underwater shell, and came back to the Marvel Universe as a founding member of the new mutant group, X-Factor. This story is set in the period just before X-Factor was formed, based on events that actually took place in the X-Men comic. Banshee and Jean Grey had been taken to the Morlock's tunnels and changed by Masque in ways that prevented them from using their powers. In this story, Masque makes some more radical changes.
Cast -
Jean Grey - One of the original X-Men. A powerful telepath with still to be fully understood telekinetic powers also. She is a tall redhead.
Banshee - Originally an international criminal, Sean Cassidy became an Interpol agent and then finally a member of the X-Men. He has a sonic scream enabling him to fly, strike down foes, and affect anything solid. He is a medium height, blonde Irishman.
Masque - a grotesque appearing mutant hiding in the Morlock tunnels along with a few dozen other mutants, all judging themselves unworthy of joining the rest of mankind on the surface.
